SUMMARY:Theorem Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Discover the rich history and unique techniques of Theorem Painting\, a treasured Early American art form that thrived in Colonial New England during the first half of the 19th century. \nThis engaging workshop invites participants to recreate a 9×12 inch painting in the traditional Theorem Painting style. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor\, you will learn how to apply oil paint using brushes onto a cotton velveteen fabric board. The process utilizes a series of pre-cut stencils\, enabling you to produce a portrait with the distinctive appeal of hand-painted artistry. \nNo prior experience is necessary to participate. The stenciling technique is designed so that every attendee\, regardless of skill level\, can successfully complete and take home their own finished painting. \nAll supplies needed for the workshop will be provided. Registration is required\, and the cost is $55 per person.

DESCRIPTION:Four historic properties will be open for guided tours on September 19 for the Friends of the Conrad Weiser Homestead. The Center for Pennsylvania German Studies\, located in the Dewees Tavern\, has 5 exhibition galleries and archives. The Henry Muhlenberg House is a fully furnished house museum interpreting the families of Lutheran pastors Henry Muhlenberg and his son General Peter Muhlenberg. The Speaker’s House is an ongoing restoration project and the site of a Pennsylvania German kitchen garden.
