Theorem Painting Workshop

Discover the rich history and unique techniques of Theorem Painting, a treasured Early American art form that thrived in Colonial New England during the first half of the 19^th century.

This engaging workshop invites participants to recreate a 9×12 inch painting in the traditional Theorem Painting style. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you will learn how to apply oil paint using brushes onto a cotton velveteen fabric board. The process utilizes a series of pre-cut stencils, enabling you to produce a portrait with the distinctive appeal of hand-painted artistry.

No prior experience is necessary to participate. The stenciling technique is designed so that every attendee, regardless of skill level, can successfully complete and take home their own finished painting.

All supplies needed for the workshop will be provided. Registration is required, and the cost is $55 per person.
